About the Author
John Randolph Price is an internationally known award-winning author and lecturer. Formerly a CEO in the corporate world, he has devoted over a quarter of a century to researching the mysteries of ancient wisdom and incorporating those findings in the writing of many books. Deep, very Spiritual, a little difficult and the 40 day prosperity exersize really works.

The ones who study the Law Of Attraction and Haven't read John Randloph just don't have a clue on what they bellieve or think they are studying. Probably the Abundance book is not his best of all, and I would dare to say a copy and paste of a couple of other sources of his own, but because the ideas are difficult and in a language not so easy for the not native english speakers (such as me) I found it was really worthy reading it. After all, repetition is the mother of knowledge we say in Greece. In addition to this, in the beginning of the book the author gives great valuable information about other sources and authors of the LOA subject, who are not the now trendy best sellers, but the ACTUAL SOURCE, the beginning of this philosophy and knowing... And only for this information I bellieve this book deserves five stars.

Insight into the Energy of Abundance

This is treatise on how abundance works energetically in our lives and how individuals can open up to it. It requires a commitment to understanding the concepts and an investment of time in meditation and journaling to see results. It's not always easy to understand but if you stick with it, some amazing insights can be yours. During the time I was doing the 40 day mediation, an interesting job opportunity came my way. And I'm open to more abundance in my life every day.

A great tool when you need to be reminded of the principles of prosperity

A friend introduced me to this little abundance book over 20 years ago, and I have used it numerous times to refocus on the principles of supply and prosperity, each time with good results. I had to order it again because I misplaced my original (very worn) copy, and as always, it has served its purpose of reminding me of what true prosperity is.

Preface

This book presents an intensive discussion of the cultures, histories, and contemporary lives of members of the First Nations of North America. Following an introduction (Chapter One), is an overview (Chapter Two) of historical processes that have affected indigenous peoples since about 1500. Both Chapters One and Two discuss the complexity of population statistics that in the past and present have seriously undercounted Native communities and individuals. The book is thereafter divided into eight regional parts (Northeast, Southeast, Plains, Great Basin, Southwest, California, Northwest Coast, and Subarctic and Arctic). Each part begins with an overview chapter followed by one (or in some cases two) chapters that deal in detail with a First Nation within the region. The book concludes (Chapter Twenty-three) with a review of contemporary indigenous economic and political issues and also summarizes current economic and social data collected by the governments of Canada and the United States.

Moving and informative . . .

I purchased this book as a second required reading book for a Humanities college course I recently took. I was surprised how engrossed I became in each Native American testimony. There were informative, moving, heartbreaking, and humorous testimonies on every page. I found myself reading some of the testimonies a 2nd and 3rd time.

About the Author
Lars M�ller was born in 1955 in Oslo. Trained as a graphic designer, he worked briefly in Holland before opening his own studio in Baden, Switzerland in 1982. Since 1996 he has been a partner in the interdisciplinary design group Integral Concept, which has offices in Paris, Milan, and Baden. In 1983, M�ller began publishing books on typography, art, photography, industrial design, and architecture. He lectures at the Hoschschule f�r Gestaltung in Basel.

First the mystery: just why was every alternate page in the book joined together? The reader has to carefully cut the perforations to be able to look at every page. I can't find any reference in the small amount of text about this. My conclusion is that the public use of the type is on the open pages and non-public (or designed) examples are on the perforation joined pages. At least you'll know if you buy a pre-used copy though.

Apart from the perforations I thought this was a handsome little book and homage in the title is very apt. Helvetica is probably the world's number one communication choice, it works just as well on a municipal sign or a new baby announcement. Before it gained a monopoly each nation seemed to have its own jobbing type, Franklin Gothic in America, Gill Sans in England or Antique Olive in France, for instance but the super clean lines of Helvetica (and computer typesetting) meant it was no contest for all the others.

The author mentions the uniqueness of Swiss design in the Fifties partly because the top designers always used the same typeface, the stunning Akzidenz Grotesk, which fitted into their rather austere but elegant graphic solutions even though it only had two weights, Medium and Bold. Who needs italic, extended, condensed, extra black and the other weights to communicate efficiently? The rest of the world for a start. From the late Fifties Swiss designed Helvetica spread across the globe and you'll see from the hundreds of examples in these pages some wonderful design solutions, especially the two hundred plus logos that use the face in all sorts of variations. As a typeface there are probably a few dozen Helvetica weights now available. Incidentally, the author suggests that Arial, the default type used on Outlook Express for most emails is a digital Helvetica, close but no cigar! The most obvious differences are the cap G and the lower case s and t.

'Homage to a typeface' is a lovely book that'll interest most typographers and anyone who is curious about a lettering style that seems to be everywhere.

About the Author
Paula Aquilla loves the practice of Occupational Therapy and Osteopathy! She is a graduate of the University of Toronto and has practiced in a variety of clinical, home and community settings since 1986. Paula is also an osteopathic manual practitioner and specializes in paediatrics. She is the director of Aquilla Occupational Therapy; a family oriented practice that is full of fun and learning! Paula was the founder and was the director of Yes I Can! Nursery School, Yes I Can! Summer camps and the I Love My Baby programs in Toronto from 1990-1996. She was the founding director of Giant Steps, Toronto. Paula currently consults to the Muki Baum Treatment Centres in Toronto and she consults to many school in Toronto. She teaches throughout Canada, the United States, Australia, the UK, and India. Her practice encompasses all types of children and young adults and her specialty is sensory integration therapy. Paula has been a guest lecturer for the University of Toronto, McMaster University and Humber College. She is published in the field: she is a co-author of Building Bridges through Sensory Integration: Occupational Therapy for Children with Autism and other Developmental Disorders (1998) and is a contributor to Children, Youth and Adults with Asperger’s Syndrome. Paula has contributed to other magazines and special interest newsletters in Canada, the US and the UK. She is the technical editor for the SI Focus Magazine. Paula brings warmth and enthusiasm in her work with children and their families. Aquilla Occupational Therapy Services was established in 1990.

Ellen Yack M.Ed., B.Sc.OT, OT Reg.(Ont.) is an occupational therapist who possesses a unique combination of expertise in the areas of clinical work, consultation, education and public speaking. Ellen has practiced as an occupational therapist since 1979 and has a Masters Degree in Education. She is internationally recognized for her expertise in sensory processing and autism spectrum disorders. Ellen's other areas of expertise include developmental coordination disorder, global developmental delay, attention deficit disorders and learning disabilities. She is one of the co-authors of Building Bridges Through Sensory Integration: Occupational Therapy for Children with Pervasive Developmental Disorders which won a Teachers Choice Award for Best Special Education Classroom Resource. Ellen is also a contributor to the book Children, Youth and Adults with Asperger Syndrome.

Shirley Sutton (BSc, OT Reg(Ont)) is a private occupational therapist helping children and youth with long and short term developmental disabilities, and adults with developmental disabilities. She also offers in-services and workshops on a variety of topics related to play, behavior, gross and fine motor development, and sensory integration. Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, and is a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists, The American Association of Occupational Therapists, and Autism Ontario.

As a music, movement and drama teacher for 25 years (1976-2001), Carol observed many out-of-sync preschoolers. To help them become more competent in their work and play, she began to study sensory processing and sensory integration (“SI”) theory. She learned to help identify her young students’ needs and to steer them into early intervention. In writings and workshops, she explains to parents, educators, and other early childhood professionals how sensory issues play out – and provides fun and functional techniques for addressing them at home and school. She is best-known for her book, The Out-of-Sync Child, which has sold more than 600,000 copies (September 2013).Over 400 sponsors have brought Carol to their communities for presentations, both in the United States and abroad ― including Australia, Canada, England, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, and Singapore. Not as helpful as I'd hoped

Not as helpful as I had expected. This was recommended from my daughter's therapist. I was hoping for some more activity ideas. It is a good book with useful information, but i was looking for something that had more specific direction, rather than so many explanations and history.

Great Resource for Families, Teachers, and Therapists

This is a book I wish I’d had when my daughter was first diagnosed with high-functioning autism and Sensory Processing Disorder. It contains good information for parents, teachers, therapists, and anyone else who spends time with children who have autism or sensory integration challenges.

Building Bridges begins by explaining sensory integration, sensory systems, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and occupational therapy in language that is easy to understand. The authors also provide anecdotes and examples to illustrate the information and make it even easier to comprehend.

The second part of the book is filled with very practical information to help caregivers provide children with interactions and assistance that will help with sensory integration in every setting. The chapter titles for Part 2 are:

Identifying Problems with Sensory Integration
Strategies for Challenging Behaviors
Ideas for Self-care skills
Adapting Home, School, and Childcare Settings
Activity Suggestions
Equipment and Resources
The information in these chapters is organized well, is easy to scan (lots of bullet points and white space on each page), and is useful and easy to apply. The authors have also provided links to PDF downloads of forms and activity cards to print so you don’t have to mess up your book trying to get to the forms!

This book is a great reference for me now, even after my daughter has spent years in occupational therapy. But if I had had it years ago, what a difference it would have made in empowering me to provide her with a better sensory diet at home and in knowing exactly what to do to manage inappropriate behaviors and to help her learn coping skills earlier! I highly recommend this book to parents whose children are just receiving diagnoses and to the people who help to care for and provide services for them.
