3.75 stars--STRIPPED DOWN is the latest novella in Lorelei James’s contemporary, adult Blacktop Cowboy erotic romance series. This is rancher Wynton Grant, and Melissa Lockhart’s storyline. STRIPPED DOWN can be read as a stand-alone; any important information from previous storylines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives STRIPPED DOWN follows the building relationship between Wynton Grant, and cutting horse champion Melissa Lockhart. Wyn and Melissa are the best man, and maid of honor respectively at Wyn’s brother Sutton Grant and London Gradsky’s wedding. Sutton and London’s storyline can be found in ROPED IN (Blacktop Cowboy 6.5 /1001 Dark Nights) novella. Wyn and Melissa’s prior reputations as a manwhore and ladyslut finds our couple intrigued with one another’s sexual history and need for $ex. What ensues is the possibility of a one-night stand that gets interrupted when a Grant family emergency puts everything on hold.

The relationship between Wyn and Melissa is quick to build; their attraction to one another is immediate, as is their sexual exploits both in and out of the bedroom. When a health crisis finds the Grant ranch shorthanded, Melissa is called in to aid with the cattle round up and what ensues is a friends to lovers relationship between Mel and Wyn with the potential for so much more. But Melissa has a secret; one that will place her life in danger when she refuses to reveal the truth. The $ex scenes are provocative and seductive; hot and steamy but not as erotic as some of Lorelei’s previous stories. Melissa and Wyn reveal quite a sordid past of sexual conquests, lovers and one-night stands.

All of the Grant siblings, as well as the parental units play a secondary and supporting role. We are introduced to Melissa’s sister Alyssa (via phone) who may or may not have an upcoming story. There is a potential love story building for Cres Grant and EMT Mick-Mick’s medical knowledge came in handy a couple of times throughout the story.

Sexy, Sassy and Sweet

I am loving the direction Lorelei James has taken with her 1001 Dark Nights stories. Roped In and Stripped Down have become fast favorites of mine in the Blacktop Cowboys Series. I'm in total lust/love with these Grant brothers. First Sutton and now Wynton. Fingers crossed brother #3 gets his HEA as well.

Wyn and Melissa are both a little cocky when they first meet at their brother and best friend's wedding and decide off the bat to have a one and done hook-up. Things change and get shuffled around pretty quick and next thing you know they are spending several weeks living under the same roof and working together every day. Wyn and Mel compliment each other in and out of the bedroom on all counts. There are a few hurdles but never a doubt that these two aren't a match made in heaven. This truly was the perfect novella. I connected with the story and characters from the first page, didn't want to put my Kindle down until I'd finished, and loved these characters as much as I do the others in the series.

Lorelei James has cornered the market in Western Romance so it's no surprise that I loved this fast paced sexy as sin story from start to finish. Being back on a ranch reminded me how much I miss my cowboys. Stripped Down is sassy, sweet, funny, and full of signature Lorelei James sexy times.

If you're looking to give her a try, now is the time. I highly recommend.

A thoroughly enjoyable, funny, sexy read where "Super Man Slut & Amazing Slut Girl" find their HEA... I say this with love and respect that the hero & heroine own who they are. They have alot more depth of character as most other 'players' in books (& reality)!
This novella is jam packed with humor, big hearts, hard work ethics, tenacity, sex & sensuality‼ What a great read!!

Once upon a time...This was my thermo text when I took the class from the former director of flight test engineering at Edwards. He was a stickler for fundamentals and this was the text he chose. It covers all the fundamentals and is both comprehensible and thorough.
I had to buy a second one as the original one from class has a worn out binding.

About the Author
Christina Rossetti (1830-1894), sister of the poet and painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti, was educated at home and shared her family's intellectual interests. Ill-health ended her work as a governess and later made her an invalid. Fields of poetic flowers

After the mysterious, luscious wonders of the acclaimed "Goblin Market," I was eager to sample more of Christina Rossetti's work. Selecting this immense volume of complete poems was a bit of a leap in the dark ... but it was definitely the right choice!

The root of her poetry's lasting power is twofold, I think.

Firstly, there's the undeniable craft & artistry of it. Rossetti possesses the gift of writing melodic, evocative poetry seemingly without effort -- whatever hard work went on behind the scenes, the result on the page is always natural, compelling, and transporting. Even the poems of grief & sorrow have a somber beauty to them, a melancholy loveliness that adorns death without masking it.

Secondly, there's the interplay between Rossetti's Victorian worldview -- a mixture of sentiment, complex piety, and a stark awareness of death -- and the personal psychological forces running below the surface, often sensual & erotic. All too easy for the clashing of these things to produce confusion; but in Rossetti's case, they blend to create a remarkable & very deep wellspring of poetry.

So we have such dreamlike poems as "The Dead City," as well as the many devotional poems -- and all draw upon that same vivid, intense power. Even for the agnostic or atheist, the religious poems often possess a rich & disturbing beauty. And there are many more poems in the same opulent vein as "Goblin Market."

This volume provides brief, informative textual notes that illuminate Rossetti's sources & references. But the poetry itself is not only quite accessible to the reader, it's also as irresistable as the sweet, addictive fruit offered by the sinister goblins. Most highly recommended!

I am in love...

My best friend told me about his passion for Christina Rossetti years ago and of course, I filed this tidbit away in my brain and only thought about it back in December when I really needed some inspirational poetry to speak to me. I'm not just discussing her religious poems, I'm discussing her entire works, period. It's very rare that a poet can speak to me like this, and have me copying down her poems for others to enjoy, but that's what I've been doing. Even a simple turn of phrase slays me.

She was so far ahead of her time. Well, her whole family were total geniuses. All I can say is that I am passionately in love with her work. I wish I could have known her.

Original Harley-Dvidson Panhead Restorer's Guide 1948-1965

This book offers more information for those seeking to do a proper restoration and should be on any Panhead fan's book shelf.
It has very good quality photos of period bikes with close ups of most. That is also the one weak link for this book. The bikes are period pieces and not totally original machines with a couple of exceptions. This is in no way a knock against the book or it's author, it's just the best of what is available. Totally correct machines are very rare. In support of the author, he does point out what is not correct on many of the photos. When used with his earlier book, Harley-Davidson Panheads, you have a very good resource and for that I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in this subject.

This book arrived just in time. The OEM style Replica Pan (Linkert carburetor intake) cylinder heads and crankcases are available from V-Twin Mfg.'. A person can now build a "Special Construction" Panhead from individual parts; a 1948 rigid springer Pan; a 1949-57 rigid frame; a 1958-64 swing arm; or the 1965 Electra-Glide. 6 or 12 volt, your choice. This valuable resource shows you a clear picture of each model and equipment groups. Use a yellow highlighter to mark first and last year changes. Go ahead, it's your book. An excellent contribution for the home-builder.

Mel Cash has been a massage therapist since 1985 and, through his books, has become one of the world’s leading authorities on the subject. He is principal tutor of the London School of Sports Massage, and has lectured in anatomy and physiology at the University of Westminster.

Excellent for use with clients

Although this book may lack the detail a serious student of kinesiology might want or need, I believe that level of detail would be difficult to fit into a "pocket" book format by any author. Instead, those students might be best served by a set of Netter's Anatomy flashcards - just pulling the muscle cards from the set would create something similar to a pocket guide with considerable detail.

What this pocket guide IS fantastic for is when you want to show a client which muscle(s) you are targetting. Sure, some clients will be interested and/or knowledgeable enough to want to see more advanced materials, but I have found that for most clients the clarity and simplicity of the muscle pictures and info in this pocket manual are exactly the right amount of info to try to convey.

If you are not just a student but are actually a practitioner working with clients, this pocket atlas can serve as an inexpensive yet effective and handy addition to your client education materials.
