Great collection of fantasy characters and creatures!

This book is a great collection of 150 fantasy character/creature templates and 10 fantasy setting templates. Compared to some other books and/or CDs, this is a modest collection. However, this book is probably among the best collections of fantasy templates out there just in term of quality.

Most of the sections in Chapter 1, 2 and 3 contain from 4 to 5 characters, occasionally showing multiple poses per selected characters. However, there are a few sections containing more characters such as Fantasy Beasts (13), God & Goddesses (10), and Devil & Demons (8). Most line drawing templates include a fully colored version.
Chapter 4 contains tips about using tools, and setting up fantasy scenes using the templates in this book. There are better books about digital techniques, but considering this is a book dedicated to templates, the information available is adequate.
The only thing to regret about this book is that it does not include a CD. However, the templates are clear enough to be copied or used as inspiration.
Overall, a great resource for any fantasy illustrator/hobbyist.

GREAT reference material!

This edition as it says, ONLY, features templates. So being the type of artist I happen to be, I LOVE this book. What I mean by that is I always found myself flipping to the final result in all the art books I came across as a kid. I'd try to draw from the finished product rather than sketching all the lil proportional shapes it takes to get there.... That being said. I LOVE this book for the reasons I have cited above. To my detriment, or to my success, this has been my method thus far. So if you are like me artistically, you'll love this book as well. It DOES NOT show step by step sketch steps... BUT, it's AWESOME!!!!!!!

Great variety of characters and creatures throughout. In my opinion the best book out there right now for helping artists with ideas and simple how-to-guide for creating and developing fantasy characters.
