Awesome tips for even the experienced traveler

I am an avid world traveler and think I am fairly good at knowing many in and outs. However, I have never thought about long term travels and fixed income after quitting my job like these two authors did!
I found tons of insight in the book on proper planning for simple things like vaccinations for countries I will be visiting. I learned my lesson on Visas for Brazil during the World Cup. Every story and idea they share is backed up by a great real life story or event. It made the reading fun and easy.
I was a fan of using ATMs for cash when I land in a country right in the airport for security (better than those currency exchange places for rates) but never thought of using some other areas. I have also learned that changing currency at hotels is usually a horrible rate and fee when you can walk a block away and find somewhere.
Overall thanks to them for sending this travel book over to a 1M mile traveler who still learned quite a few things. I have always wanted to do and have been long term planning an around the world trip and this had great tips for that too.

This is *the* book to get extensive travel information!

This is a great book!
I can't say I have traveled the world, or that I intend to any time soon (I prefer going to one country at a time and then coming back home), but this is a book that you can read to get advice for any kind of travel abroad.
I like that everything was well structured, the information is clearly placed in proper chapters, so you don't have to go looking here or there and realize you can't find the piece of information you were looking for. I have learned a lot from this, especially from the Safety & Security chapter, and all of this information is pretty common-sense.
Also, I've always been a fan of using travel guides, and this book does refer to some of my favorite sites.
I received an invitation to review this book, and honestly, I expected your average many pictures, little information travel book. I have seen plenty of this type! But this is not the book for that. You will read about how to make sure your health is covered, about how to exchange money, what you can do in an emergency situation, etc. I think this is a very useful book for any kind of travel.
All in all, this fully deserves 5 stars, in my opinion. I will say that the use of proper grammar was just an extra bonus for me.

Excellent travel book - not just for around the world trips

Consider this book if your planning on traveling anywhere outside of where you live - you don't have to travel the world to find the information in this book useful.
It starts with the title: Don't Offer Papaya. They simply mean don't leave items like camera's and purse's on tables or slung over chairs - don't make it easy for someone to steal your items, basically. I like their calculator on how much to budget - it seems about right based on the travel I have done. Have you considered staying in dorm bype areas - or do you want more privacy? This and much else is covered.
The book itself is well written and is fun to read. They have several anecdotes to really make you think, and remember, the advice offered.
I found this book while searching for specific information on a couple of places - in truth it has been more useful than some of the ones that seemed to be specificially what I was looking for. If your planning a trip, or just thinking about it, this will be a good place to start.
